Fall Swap

I have missed you all!!!  I have been so busy living life that I have hardly had time to take pictures or write about it haha!  I have been so blessed to have a job that I love and 3 healthy boys to drive all over to all kinds of sporting events and activities.  We really have such a wonderful time.  We have been enjoying some fun fall activities like the Pumpkin Patch, Wild West Days,  Powell Gardens & Missouri Town 1855.  I love when we are learning and having fun at the same time.

As we have been waking to cooler mornings we have been prepping the animals for winter and putting the garden to bed. I even had my mom helping me haul square bales on her birthday!  It is always bittersweet as the days get colder and shorter.  I have a long list of projects and books to occupy my winter.  I will be taking the Creatively Made Home for the Holidays course hosted by Jeanne Oliver.  I am also cooking a lot of french recipes inspired by our french lessons we are taking.  I even spent 3 hours on the most beautiful, delicious cake the other day!  I was so proud of myself!

Fall is candle season so I have also been making lots of fun new scents like Barn Dance and Sunday Mornin’, Harvest Hoedown, Prairie Pantry and Parisienne Patisserie.  Remember you can email me an order or purchase the candles at Kat & Co in St. Joseph, MO or Studio 1404 in Kansas City or Sweet Wishes Cakery in Savannah, MO.  I’m excited to be wholesaling as well.

Before Fall slips away I am hosting a Swap!  All you need to do is shoot me an email saying that you want to participate with a short list of some of your favorite fall items or interests.  I will then match you up with someone else and we will swap!  I love Swap days.  Shopping for others and of course receiving is so much fun!!!!  The items can include anything from favorite fall drinks (don’t you love Simply Tea in St. Joe?), gift cards to Star Bucks, a mug, candles (wink wink!), cozy scarves or socks, art supplies, lotion, apple butter, you name it!  Spend between $20-$30 and treat yourself and someone else to a pre holiday season treat!!!  I hope you will all participate. I need to hear from you by MONDAY OCTOBER 14, 2013 and swaps must be mailed by MONDAY OCTOBER 28, 2013. Happy Fall Y’All!

La Ferme Soy Candles

A little info on my candles I have to sell…..I will no longer be selling them in Zona Rosa after September 30 so I wanted to let y’all know where you can find them!  Currently I have them for sell at The Rusty Chandelier & Kat & Co in Saint Joseph, MO.  I was honored to have them featured at Brocante Bliss in the West Bottoms in September…yea!!!  I do sell them at certain craft fairs like Trails West, Weston’s Apple Fest & More.  These are usually announced on my Facebook Page:  Amusing Provincial of La Ferme.

A little about my candles.  Since I’m a farmy, hippie, organic kinda girl I use all natural soy wax that burns cleaner (without that yucky smoke) and supports farmers (wahoo!).  More reasons why soy is the way to go can be found here.

The candles I sell are 16 ounces and $16 each.  I also make tart warmers similar to Scentsy bars that are $4.  I can make almost any scent you can imagine….the possiblities are overwhelming!!  I have a few favorites that I enjoy and use as my ‘main’ scents I keep on hand.  They are:

Lilac, Lemon, CinnaBun, Orange Vanilla, Cherry Almond, Goat Milk & Honey, Cafe Latte, Country Clothesline, Amish Quilt, LoveSpell, Monkey Farts & Baby Bibb Lettuce.  Currently I have some fabulous fall scents like Banana Nut Bread, Pumpkin, Carmel Apple & Farmhouse Cider.

Please leave a comment or shoot me an email if you have any questions about the candles and where you can get them, order them, etc.  I’ve even been known to ship them!!!  And thanks again for all of your support!!!

This week only I am having a Facebook Candle Sale!!!  I’m ready to move out my Fall Inventory & focus on Holiday scents!!  Limited Number of Candles/Fragrances so Act Fast.  Comment below to order or message me or email me at amusingprovincial@yahoo.com Sale ends Friday. Head Out On The Highway

You all know I love a good road trip!!!  My Junkin’ Travels would take me clear across the Midwest if my hubby would let me!!  My boys have learned to love the art of treasure hunting with no choice of their own!!!

I have put together a little Road Trip Love for all you Dirt Road Dreamers & Gravel Travelers that just so happens to coincde with our lovely little event; The Gathering.  So don’t say it’s too far away. Make a weekend of it. And if you grab a couple of girlfriends you can split the cost of gas and hotel.

Hotel you say?  Why yes I did.  St Joseph is one of the few towns in the Midwest that boasts the home of Stoney Creek Inn.  My family & I love this sweet spot not only for the rustic decor & indoor pool but it’s friendliness of the staff and cleanliness.  And it’s got great rates.  In fact!!!!  If you mention The Gathering you can score a room for under $100!!!  For just $99 buckaroos you can enjoy a lovely room.  Give Shawn a call at (816) 901.9600 * 1.800.659.2220.

Now we know that you’re coming to The Gathering on Saturday September 29 between 9-5 (since you’re probably taking a class you’ll be here all day loves!!!) but on your way over you’ll want to stop by the Trash To Treasure Flea Market that opens up at 8 a.m. and supports our local museums which I happen to LOVE.  You will find this event at 3406 Frederick Avenue.

Rewind to Thursday evening & Friday September 28.   One of my favorite shoppes, Artistic Works by Lu, is hosting a fabulous soiree.  Lu’s “Autumn Affair” is September 27 from 4-8 p.m. with a debut of her fall jewelry line and chic fashion trends. You don’t want to miss this event and all of the charming shops in downtown Leavenworth like The Candle Queen Boutique.  On Friday swing by Weston, MO (all about 30 minutes from Saint Joseph), Parkville, MO and Platte City, MO for even more unique shopping.  Saint Joseph also boasts great shopping that will be represented at The Gathering like Chic Boutique, Kat & Co & The Rusty Chandelier.  Savannah, MO (another stone’s throw away) has sweet stores like Heavenly Treasures & the Ivy Cottage.  No shortage of goodies to purchase ladies.

After your awesome day on Saturday at The Gathering….Sunday morning you’re ready to go home but not before you hit the Antique Stores along 36 Highway and in Cameron, MO.  Right outside of Cameron in a rural community called Hamilton you will find the Barn Gypsy sale which you do not want to miss.

Shop Til You Drop is what gals do best and this is one weekend you can do just that!!!
